# Payins

> Collect money into your books from supported sources.

**Payins** (collections) credit one of your books from an external payer — open banking, mobile money, cards, and other sources depending on your workspace.

## Sources

Use the returned source ids / methods when building prepare and create payloads.

## Flow

**1. Preview or fee**

`POST /v1/payins/preview` and/or `POST /v1/payins/fee` to show the customer what lands on the book.

**2. Prepare**

`POST /v1/payins/prepare` — may return a redirect URL, payment intent, or next step for the payer.

**3. Create / complete**

`POST /v1/payins` to finalize when your flow requires it. Track with `GET /v1/payins/{id}`.

Subscribe to payin / inflow webhooks so you do not rely only on redirects.

## Dev mode

In dashboard **Dev**, partner collection rails are not called. Use **Bank Simulator** to credit sandbox books and exercise balances, emails, and webhooks.
